Iranian Almond:

Paper skin almond, as its name implies, has a thin wooden skin with a narrow open mouth so it can be easily opened by hand pressure.

Paper skin almond is known as “monagha” almond in Persia.

Iranian almond is the nut of almond tree fruit which has a long shape.

The almond taste can be sweet or bitter (depends on almond type)

Almond nut consumption was common from ancient times .

In Persia there is 3 types of almond tree; one of them produces sweet almond while others produces bitter almonds.

Paper skin almond in fresh form has a villi Green color skin which can be separated after harvesting.

Usage & Benefits

Almonds contain a cyanogenic glycoside called amygladin.

This glycoside is very less in sweet almonds but in bitter almonds in the amount of 1 to 3.5 percent which is a toxic extent.

Therefore, in consuming bitter almonds, the necessary limits should be considered.

The properties of almond oil include cleansing the skin of the face and body, as well as the high collagen-producing properties of this oil.

Almond oil penetrates into the inner layers of the skin, eliminates impurities and inflammatory substances. People with blackheads or acne can use almond oil as a natural skin cleanser.

Sweet almond has various uses in the production of sweets, cakes and desserts and also has applications for decorating a variety of Iranian foods and desserts.
